I realised today that we have a unisex bathroom at work… and I’ve been here going on 4 years now.
Seriously, I’ve never noticed before. Or more specifically, I wasn’t aware that THAT IS what we had. See, we are only women at work, so having only a single loo is fine.
Today we had some men around to do some maintenance and diy. We’ve had men visit the lab before, but today was different. Mr Handy was busy working on the geyser and some trim and I REALLY had to go. More than once. I had 3 cups of coffee and water in between. And was very aware of the acoustics of the little cubicle.
Although, it isn’t the first time I’ve worked (and lived) with unisex utilities. This one kibbutz I mopped floors at even had 2 separate entrances to the same 3 stalled wc. We also shared showers and loo’s at the volunteer residence.
The mushav pushed the envelope a bit further. We stayed in mixed rooms that slept 8… with 1 bathroom. And I remember of only walking in on a roommate once. He didn’t even blush.
Now at work thoug, I’m glad we’re all women most of the time.
